In a recent post, I mentioned that a "surprise crew member" showed-up to help on moving day.

Moving... it is done.

As Brenda Dickson would say: "Whew! That was exhausting."

All moved-out.  Boxes are at the new place.  Old keys turned-in.  Old apartment cleaned.  U-Haul returned.  Cable and Internet now active.  Getting mail.  Fridge stocked with the essentials.  Boxes... EVERYWHERE.

The move went quite smoothly, mostly thanks to the 20 (!!!) guys that helped-out.  (You guys are the best!!  And I OWE ya...)

The weekend included a surprise addition to the moving crew... which I'll write-about later today.

NOW to unpack all those boxes.  Which do I start with?

And now, I shall change the subject.

The big move starts today! Well actually it started last night... the first item to be moved in was the television, so the cable guy can do the installation today. MANY sincere thanks to [info]kingfuraday for helping me lug it up the stairs. (It was nice to hang-out last night bud!) And thanks also to [info]bearxxl for loaning me a push-cart... it's already come in VERY handy.

It's now 7:30am, I've had my caffeine bump, so it's time to get moving. I have the day off so I can move over a few things... the PC, the office desk, food, bathroom supplies, etc. The big move day is tomorrow. Should have 8-10 guys to help... for which I am eternally grateful.  The forecast says it'll be 68 degrees and sunny.

Really excited about being in the new place... it's pictured above.  And very much looking forward to when Matt ([info]maverick1303) can come visit and we can enjoy it together for a 3-day weekend. (Just two more weeks, sweet man!)

On an unrelated note. Saw this clever quote on Brunching.com:

"It's perfectly fine to use the name of your pet or child as a password. However, for the sake of security, make sure the names of all your pets and children contain several non-alphanumeric characters."

Hugs all around.
